Back in 600 b.c.e., while China's war-lords were
feuding, philosophers were trying to find answers
to help their countrymen avoid conflicts and live in
harmony.
Lao-Tse, a contemporary of Confucius
introduced his "book of changes and reason",
known today as the TAO-TE-CHING.
Explaining that the TAO is the cause of the universe, the force
that flows through all life. That the universe is
composed of opposites, or YIN-YANG,
which creates balance, and/or instability in one's
life.
The art of WU-WEI teaches one the path of least resistance. It is combined with
TAI-CHI , a yoga like exercise that helps balance the Yin-Yang and flow of CHI ,
in ones mind-body-spirit.
Taoism is divided between the Philosophical and
Devotional schools of thought.
