Along with Hinduism and Buddhism, Jainism is
amongst India's oldest (circa 600 b.c.e.) and most
influential religions (3-4 million adherents)
The Ajains-"followers of Jinas" follow a strict futilitarian diet, have compassion for all living creatures.
Similarly to Buddhism - they believe
that the universe runs on its own accord, subject tp
its own "cosmic laws", but not by a creator
such
as G-D.
However they feel that any man may
become a "living god", by destroying all
Karma, and possessing perfect knowledge, vision
and bliss.
Mahavira-is their current Tirthinkara - in a
lineage of 23 previous ascended masters.
