AP Name:

You may assign any name to your Access Point. Unique, memorable names are helpful, especially if you are employing multiple Access Points on the same network.

IP Address:

Specifies the IP address of the Access Point.

Subnet Mask:

Specifies the subnet mask for the Access Point.

Default Gateway Address:

Specifies the default gateway address for the Access Point.

SSID:

The unique name shared among all points in a wireless network. The SSID must be identical at each point in the wireless network. It is case sensitive and may consist of any character on your keyboard.

Using an SSID of "any" (without quotations) will cause a wireless device to attempt association with the closest Access Point.

Channel:

Select the appropriate channel from the list provided to correspond with your network settings (between 1-11 in North America). All points in your wireless network must use the same channel in order to function correctly.

WEP:

Enables Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) on the Access Point. Select the checkbox to enable encryption. Valid WEP keys are 64, 128 and 256 bit. You may select between ASCII or Hexadecimal key entry. WEP setting on your Access Point must be identical to all other wireless points on your network.

Backup/Restore Settings:

Use this setting to backup or restore your Access Points configuration. You will be prompted for a file name and location to store your Access Point configuration on your local PC or network. It is a good idea to store this file in a secure location.
